Details, Details...

We love weddings (obviously) and we know that it is the people that make them special, but it's all the little details that make each wedding unique and special to the couple.  We LIVE for this stuff, and just wanted to share one of our favourite handmade details a bride made for her husband to be for their wedding day.  *Ahem* I definitely didn't cry when he read it...nope....

Anyone for Tennis....?

I feel like I say this so often, but we are incredibly lucky to work with such amazing couples!  David and Rebecca's wedding was no exception, and had literally e. ve. ry. thin. g.

Set at the idyllic Narborough Hall, with row boats on the lake and croquet on the lawn, we all "Lorded" it up in high society for the day! (I could definitely get used to it!)  There was a high tea party, Pimms, an ice cream cart, fire pits and a dance party in the barn.  Add that to all the stunning decor and details that Rebecca put together in just four (Yes FOUR!) months, and you have a pretty amazing wedding!

Their love story began with a chance encounter in a London pub (and some interesting dance moves from what we hear).  They bonded over a mutual love of tennis, and their romance simply blossomed.  Interestingly, the females in Rebecca's family have now all married Kiwi men for the past 3 generations, and having met David's family and friends, we know why!  Super fun, super friendly and they love to party!  Oh, and we won't forget handsome... (thanks, Maria)

You will have to watch the whole film to see how amazing this wedding was, but there were a few 'moments' that made this wedding extra special.  Firstly, we got to meet up with David really early on the morning of the wedding and watched as the guys had a full 20/20 cricket game.  And although the usual English rain stopped play a few times, the Groom still produced a man of the match performance!

Later with belly's full of cake, scones and champagne, the sun setting, the guests headed out to the lawn.  There, thanks to the wonderful Charlie Green, a mass sing-a-long ensued with some very tuneful (ahem) renditions of Adele, Fleetwood Mac, Elton John and one of my favorite songs ever.... Lionel Ritchie's 'All night long' being belted out across the roving English countryside.

So, Lords and Ladies, may I present, David and Rebecca's wedding film.....

Thank You

Just thanks, a million times over.

For all the love and support of what we do - we are so grateful.  We honestly love what we do so much, and find it so rewarding that we can help people re-live the best day ever in a beautiful way.  We received a phone call this morning from a bride's mother just to say thank you, and it was so kind, and to hear someone be that happy with our work was truly touching.  But it's time the tables have turned, because we have a lot of people to be thankful for too...

Thank you to all the brides who work so hard to create every detail of the day.  We know how much work and thought you put in, and it helps to make our job even easier.  Thank you for trusting us to catch everything, and to tell your story.  Thank you for looking after us with bacon butties, snacks, water and delicious meals - we might pass out without you.  Thank you for opening yourself and your life to us, and for your friendship when all is said and done.

Thank you to all the grooms who sometimes are part of putting every last detail together - building stuff, logistics, and if you are allowed, even decorating!!  But really, thank you for being such a great support to your brides - they couldn't do it without you, and neither could we.  Thank you for trusting us, and for opening up to us, even when you are getting emotional.  We know it's hard.  And although it is completely unnecessary, thank you for including us in your speeches sometimes - you REALLY don't have to do that, but how kind of you to think of us like that.  Oh, and thanks for looking after us with drinks during the night.  Again, totally unnecessary, but we love you for it.

Thank you to all the best friends - the maids of honour, the best men, the bridesmen, the groomswomen.  You are also a great support, and an extra brain, and extra set of hands, and sometimes, a supportive, loving ear to be vented on.  You keep them sane and calm their nerves - you're worth your weight in gold.  Thank you for wrangling stray family members for pictures, and for putting your "listening hats" on!!  Haha.

Thank you to all of the parents.  You are often a silent hero in all of the madness, but we want to give you some major love.  We honour you for your unconditional love, support, and thoughtfulness, as well as your often immense financial support to your kids.  You are responsible for the people who begin their married lives on that day, and are responsible for having given them an idea of what married life should look like.  You should be proud.

Thank you to all the vendors who work so hard for people you don't even know.  To the vendors that treat each wedding as if it were their own child getting married, we recognise and notice you - you make all the difference in the world.  Thank you for working hand in hand with us, sharing space, angles, ideas, and advice with us.  Thank you for looking after us, and for welcoming us onto the bride and groom's team with open arms.  We are all here for them.

Thank you to our friends and family who have supported us in everything we do.  Sometimes we need cheerleaders too, and you never disappoint.  When we think we suck, you tell us we don't - when we do suck, you tell us how we could improve.  You help spread the word about us and what we do to everyone you know.  You vote for us in contests, you comment on our blogs that we aren't sure anyone actually reads other than when they comment.  You help us build STUDIO 1208, and you are as much a part of our successes as we are.  We love you and could never thank you enough.

Love - Thirty...

On the 30th of June, we shot an amazing love story at the stunning Narborough Hall, deep in the Norfolk countryside.  The wedding was simply stunning, and our beautiful bride organized the whole thing in just four months!  A tea party, row boats, an ice cream bike, Pimms, croquet on the lawn, mass sing-a-long's at sunset.... Do I need to go on?!

All you need to know is that Rebecca is a Brit and David is a Kiwi - they met by chance in a London pub, and bonded over a mutual love of tennis.  They fell in love, they got married and walked off hand in hand into the sunset.

Game, Set, Match.

A Thousand Kisses From You...

Here is the grand finale of Abby and Gareth's gorgeous wedding, the full film! I dare you not to let this put a tear in your eye and smile on your face! Notice how fun their dance party looks... is it a coincidence that Nick made a custom DJ dance party mix for them? I think not.

Fly Away Home...

Abby and Gareth planned a destination wedding from their current home in Australia - the thing is, it was only a destination to them! Everyone invited was already there, in their home town in the UK. It must have felt pretty strange to plan the whole thing from halfway around the world!

We are really glad they did (although would have gone to Oz, gladly!!) so that we could get to know them, their friends and family. What great people.

When I met Abby and her mom Anne at our consultation, I knew we were gonna remain friends. She is just wonderful, and fun and down to earth - it is no wonder why Gareth fell for her! Gareth is equally as great. We only met at the wedding since he had already emigrated to Australia, but I can tell you, this guy is a blast to be around. He is crazy, and fun, and his family is cut from the same great cloth. I still want to come to your dairy farm, guys!!!

So, basically, we loved shooting this wedding and becoming friends to two great people...who live in Australia... wink, wink xx

It Had To Be You...

"I came here tonight because when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible."

Recognize this quote?  It is from one of the best romantic comedies ever, When Harry Met Sally.  Now, knowing that these two are huge film lovers - and mostly that of a vintage era, I hope that they too love this movie and quote.  I think it sort of fits them in this situation, being that Kate and Andy planned their wedding in two months.

The wedding was flawless.  They thought of everything, and made it all come to life in a very short span of time.  It was chilled out and chic all at the same time.  The thing I found so rad about it though, was that it looked and felt JUST like them - cool, fun, intelligent and not too serious...and totally, utterly in love.

So, without waiting another second, we present Kate and Andy's full wedding film

Born To Be Wild...

Gareth and Abby are two of the nicest people you will ever meet. The love they have for each other and their families is wonderful, and the fun they all have together is contagious. These two planned a destination wedding from their current home in Australia - although, it was only a destination for them, as they are both originally from England and both their families and friends remain there.

We had so much fun with them, and loved being a part of their big day! We will be sharing their entire wedding here soon, so keep an eye out!

Friday, I'm In Love....

On Friday, we got to be a part of Jon and Sara's gorgeous wedding at Thornton Manor.  We had been looking forward to this one ever since the first time we met these two about a year ago, in Liverpool.  Jon was as handsome as they come, and Sara, well, she stole the show.  She was stunning in her Pronovias gown, and cathedral length veil.   She even wore a diamond and emerald necklace left to her by her grandmother - one of the most beautiful vintage pieces I have ever seen.

Here is a sneak peek at a wedding we can't wait to show you!

This Girl...

Isn't she adorable?!

Susana is one of the sweetest people i have ever met.  I am so happy that we were able to meet because of her seeing our work on Style Me Pretty, and then booking us for her own wedding all the way in Cape Cod.

Adorable bride wearing Monique Lhuillier eating a snack photo by STUDIO 1208
I love this image - she couldn't look cuter in her Monique Lhuillier dress, eating a cracker, trying to stay cool and hydrated in 100 degree / 80% humidity weather.  She is a trooper,  a gorgeous bride, AND a wonderful person.  She and Michael are a perfect match.  Can't wait to share this beautiful, chic, and totally personalized wedding with you all!

I Love You Because....

Megan and Jeremy's gorgeous Positano, Italy wedding photos by STUDIO 1208
When we shot Megan and Jeremy's wedding in Positano, Italy, we knew it would be great.  The Amalfi coast is simply stunning and despite its wealthy status, it retains a really chilled out and relaxed vibe.  What we didn't bargain for was going out there to work, and leave with a ton of new friends. From the second we all met, everything just clicked, like we had known them for years.  Whether we were hanging out watching the Euro's, or making them climb into fishing boats for pictures, it was like doing it with old friends.  Seriously, this did not feel like working at all.  Although, my aching legs from the millions of steps Positano is famous for, might disagree!

This was one of the closest and most intimate weddings we have ever been a part of.  A handful of friends and family spending a few days together to celebrate two great people in love.  It wasn't flash, it wasn't hugely pre-planned (have you ever tried to pre-book anything in Italy?) but it was perfect.  It encapsulated everything about Megan and Jeremy's relationship, not only with each other, but with all those around them.  Relaxed, fun, honest and a great time.  The whole group is really close, which made it even more incredible that they all welcomed both Maria and I with such open arms.  We seriously can not thank you guys enough.

So having met everyone, I decided I really needed to tell Megan and Jeremy's story in a slightly different way.  On busy wedding days, sometimes your nearest and dearest don't get time to tell you why they love you, and why you are so special to them.  So, I thought I would give everybody that chance.  Instead of our normal coming soon trailer, I decided to make them this short film, 'I love you because'.

So here is to love, health, happiness and some incredible new friends.

We love you because you are awesome!
