Diamonds Are Forever...

While it is fun and historic to celebrate the Queens Diamond Jubilee, it's way more fun to gate crash the party!  Over a year ago, Dan and Becky decided to coincide their wedding day with the royal celebrations in the capital.

Thornton Manor was decked out beautifully.  The decor and wedding planning was befitting of any King or Queen, and even though our great British summer was a little rain interrupted, everybody had a 'spiffing' time.

Dan and Becky were great sports despite the showers, and with their full wedding film and blog post coming soon…. here is a little something to 'wet' your appetite……

Here Comes The Sun...

Chris and Claire literally BRING the sunshine!  They not only got a beautiful day for their engagement shoot but also a fantastic wedding day, where the sun shined as brightly as everyone's smiles!
Surprised as I was that Chris did not manage to have this wedding at Villa park (he's a mad keen Aston Villa fan), the beautiful Rookery Hall in Cheshire provided a stunning backdrop instead. Their daughter, Amelie, looked every inch a little angel, and Chris really pulled it out of the bag with his wedding present  to Claire… a stunning pair of Jimmy Choo's!  Rumors that this may have been a payoff, to allow the wedding tables to be named after Villa's playing legends are as yet unconfirmed, but nevertheless a very smart move!

This was such a fun wedding to shoot, Chris and Claire allowed us to steal them away from their raging party and drive them into the countryside to shoot some video and photo's as the sun set on an amazing day.  Claire was more than up for leaping over a farmers fence to get the shots too!  They had a bright red London bus to ferry their friends and family around, and even TWO cheeky liquors as wedding favors…. Now thats what I call looking after your guests! A great DJ set from Chris's dad, Tot, kept everybody moving into the night, especially when he dropped the holy grail of Northern Soul.... "Do I Love You (Indeed I Do)" by Frank Wilson. This is the rarest and most expensive vinyl around, so we of course included that track in our film!

So, thank you Chris and Claire for allowing us to be part of your day and help tell your story. It was a pleasure for us to be there and enjoy it with you.

Without further delay, here is Claire's wedding… and Chris's cup final!

It's My Party.....And I'll Cry If I Want To!

We have had such an incredible year!  I still can't quite believe it was a year ago, today, that we were saying our very own "I do's" in a little pink church in Cheshire.  We have shot so many beautiful weddings over the past year or so, but we both still love to sit and watch our own film every so often.

We always tear up, have a cry and then laugh and smile.  I think we always will.  If a film like this can mean so much to us, then it makes us very happy that we can create that same special feeling for our own brides and grooms.

I don't think either Maria or I honestly felt the true importance of wedding photos and video until we had our own captured.  I was especially taken back by the film aspect, because I never really considered how much of the day the bride and groom don't get to see!  For me (and I am sure most of you "married's" out there!), the whole wedding day was a whirlwind - an incredible day charged with adrenaline and emotion.  It races past so quickly, it's easy to forget and miss things.

To see Maria opening gifts, or walking out of the hotel with her dad is amazing for me.  It feels like I was there, even though I wasn't!  There are so many moments in our film that I seriously do NOT remember myself, or was not around for.  That's what makes wedding films such an important part of your wedding day, and I have to recommend ANYONE getting married to do it.  The pictures of course capture those amazing 'moments' but there is something about moving pictures that just edges it for me.

So a year on... Happy Anniversary to my wonderful wife, work partner, fantastic mommy and best friend. I love you, and I always will.

Langly, Where Fashion Meets Function...

Hello everyone!

It has been absolutely crazy at HQ these days - we are in full swing of wedding season, and it is awesome. Tons of work, but we ARE NOT complaining! A little quieter than usual on here, but I promise I will try to keep up with the updates!

LANGLY Camera Bags

So...what is this Langly I speak of? Well, my dear old friend and fab film-maker and photographer, Evan Lane is the man behind Langly. He has designed one of the coolest photo bags I have ever seen. Evan says, "As a working freelance photographer, I am always in need of something to protect my camera gear. It has been my on-going mission to find the perfect camera bag: one that isn't only functional but also fashionable. Most bags are usually one but not the other. I decided to make my own bag, a backpack that meets the needs of the photographer on the go. My intended goal is to put a camera bag on the market that will meet the needs of photographers and camera enthusiasts everywhere."

Well, it is fashionable AND highly functional. Not to mention super high quality, waterproof and spacious! So great to be able to take it around the world without screaming "STEAL ME, I AM PHOTOGRAPHY EQUIPMENT!!!" I can not wait to get my hands on one - and when I do, you can expect a full blog post with photos and maybe even a little video so you can see how awesome it is!

Now, here is the thing... you are probably thinking "why are you plugging it even though you don't have one?" Fair enough, but here is the reason: No one does! Langly is only a prototype right now, and trying to get funding for its first run - to the tune of $30,000.00!! With every attempt to raise this money, Evan has turned to the fantastic Kick Starter, a website dedicated to helping great projects get off the ground by having people of the public donate money as "backers" and have a part in the development and future of the project...for as little or as much as you can donate. Such a cool idea, and I am proud to say that we have invested in Evan and his gorgeous bags!

Check it out for yourself, I was very confused when I first heard about it too. These donations don't go unnoticed or un-thanked - depending on the amount you give, you will get a gift in return from Evan, and all those who donate will get at the very least, a discount on your very own Langly bag!

Please take a sec to check out Langly, and get behind a great start-up company with a fantastic product, and the hardest working owner/designer I have ever met. Better yet, help spread the word, donate and get one of these bags for yourself! You can help spread the word by re-tweeting this:

Now let's see some eye candy!

What do you think?  Gorgeous yet rugged, right?!  I am hoping for a black one in the next run... you know us, we are so goth about our gear!  We wish Evan the absolute best - only 20 days left to go in his Kick Starter project, so don't wait, help spread the word today!!  Thank you!
