HA! Some of you are scratching your heads saying, Jedward? who / what is that?! Well, if you haven't heard of them, they are an identical twin brother boy band, which became famous after their apearance on the UK X-Factor in 2009. They are (as Simon Cowell stated in their first audition) not very good and extremely annoying, but somehow the UK still embraces them and their quirky OTT personalities.
Here they are, so you can see who I am talking about:
Anyway, if you're still reading, you might be thinking, "where is this going?!"
Well, a few weeks ago, we were asked to make a dance party mix for Lee and Rachel's wedding. If you didn't know already, Nick is not only a musician, but a really good DJ too, so he often gets hired to make mixes for our brides and grooms. You might remember this one from Danny and Miriam's New York wedding. It's amazing - download it!!
After discussing tracks with the bride and groom, Nick got to work, and then we got to talking to Lee and Rach about making cd's for all of their guests as another favor. They thought it was a great idea, but there was just one problem - what would the cover art be?
Hmmmm. Well, we also realized that both Lee and Rachel's middle names begin with J, and their last name is Edwards....are you doing the math? So, we started our super secret design surprise for the bride and groom. We knew they were totally up for it, and they gave us full artistic license. Here is what we came up with:

Back:
HAHAHAHAHA, right?! They (and all the guests) loved it - once they realized it wasn't actually a Jedward cd.
As you can see, I had to take pictures of them beforehand to mimick the Jedward images. They had no idea what I was asking them to do, and what it was for. They are just really, really good sports! I also changed the color of their jackets, since the wedding color was purple. The mix ended up going down SO well, and as always, we want to share the mix with anyone who may have missed it, or just loves to dance. It's free, just download it and party!
The Jedwards' Seven Four Twelve Marriage Mash-Up Mix
Thanks again and congratulations to Lee and Rach (who is actually really beautiful, btw - does NOT look like a boy, and has gorgeous hair!!!) for being such amazing sports! If you (or someone you know) might be interested in a custom mix for your wedding or as a favor, let us know - we can get you a quote. It doesn't cost that much, you get to hear the exact music you want to dance to - professionally mixed AND it is a great keepsake. Win! It doesn't have to be a silly cover either - we just happen to be amazing at those!!!

Re Re Rewind.....
I still literally can't believe where 2011 has gone! Jackson's first Christmas was a raging success, and now our front room looks like a play den... (yeah, thanks for the giant inflatable Ferrari ball pit, Grandma!) In October we went to New York, traveled to Rio de Janeiro in November, as well as even managing to do a few weddings on home soil here in the UK in December! Busy busy, but lots of fun!
So, this is just a quick rewind to our trip to NYC for Miriam and Danny's amazing wedding. If you didn't see their video already.... check it out here and their wedding trailer, entitled "the kiss" here.
Also on this trip, we took a meeting with the uber-talented designer, Gretchen Jones. You probably recognize her best, as being the winner of Project Runway Season 8. Sice her win, Gretchen has been taking New York by storm, with her beautiful eco-conscious designs, and we are pleased to say that a collaboration is in our future! More on that exciting news later!

A nice day for a white wedding...
I have just flown about 18.5 thousand miles in the last two weeks, shot some great weddings, and seen some amazing places. While chatting to a very nice lady on my flight home from Rio, she asked me a really, really smart question:
"You must have seen so many weddings, so what makes a great wedding?"
I told her all about the weddings we had shot, and all the beautiful places and things we had seen, but I didn't really answer her question. The truth is I had never thought about it before. I thought about it long and hard, (I had about 10 hours) and then started to write.
Ultimately, I think it's pretty hard to have a conclusive answer as to exactly 'what' makes a wedding great. I feel that Maria and I are very lucky that we get to see so many, all with their own unique twists and styles. It's incredible to be a fly on the wall, and see people we know, or maybe have just met on literally the happiest, most fantastic day of their lives. But amidst all the details; those handcrafted invites, the table decorations, the dress or even the peonies you scoured every local flower market to find, it is sometimes all too easy to forget about the thing that truly makes a wedding great... the people.
Now, I don't just mean the Bride and Groom, but everyone surrounding them. The journey it takes for all these wedding guests to meet up for this one special event is incredible. In fact, it's actually remarkable when you actually think about it. A wedding is creating a moment in history that will never happen again. Families unite and embrace a merging of cultures in a way that would never normally happen. Friends and family meet others who's lives may never have crossed paths before. When you consider that, a wedding is less a glorified party and more a life changing event for everybody concerned.
The reason I say this with such conviction is simply the last two weddings we shot. Danny and Miriam in New York, and Daniel and Adriana in Buzios, Brazil. I think between the two sets of guests, we must have pretty much covered every language, culture and country. The speeches at both weddings told of people's lives and the moves they made across country or even internationally. Tales of how friendships were made, how groups were formed, and how paths were created to lead to this moment.
By the end of my flight, (and having sat waiting for Maria to arrive for a few hours in Manchester!) I feel like I had my answer. So, Jenny, from flight BA248 here goes...
I think the thing that makes weddings great are the people in them, those who surround it, and the stories that took them there. All the people that are invited to weddings are in someway connected to the bride and groom throughout their lives. If we imagine each person, each relationship to be a beautiful tiny piece of colorful mosaic, then what a wedding does, is brings all those tiny pieces of life together. Incredibly, the simple love of just two people somehow acts as a glue to hold these relationships together, and interweave all those incredible stories. The great thing about a wedding, is that it is blank canvas where everything finally falls into place.

New York, New York....
We are so pleased to debut this film! I always think that everytime Nick does a film that it is his best work to date, and this film is no exception. This is the full wedding film for the beautiful Danny and Miriam. When the best man, Steve, jokingly described them as "the couple that comes with the frame", he was not far wrong!
They met in New York, and just three months later, Danny not only changed his career, but also moved out to California so that they could be together. With so many memories still in the East Coast, they decided to get married at the exclusive Crest Hollow Country Club, close to where Danny grew up in Long Island.
This was a simply incredible big fat Greek, Lebanese, Irish, Italian wedding, all summed up in an epic, tear- jerking end to the best man's speech by Steve, Danny's brother.
"So long as you guys have each other, and so long as you guys love each other, you will always be in the right place".
We couldn't agree more.
Massive congrats to them, and we hope you enjoy!

Grab Somebody Sexy Tell Em.... HEY!
We always like to try to go the extra mile for our clients, and help them out wherever we can. Despite having a fantastic live band, Danny and Miriam were struggling for some tracks to fill her 'dance party' section of her evening. So we offered to create her very own 'jersey turnpike' fist pumping, floor crushing, body moving mix instead of our usual custom composed track. She picked her favorite songs, and we did the rest! It definitely proved a hit as both young and old made their way onto the dancefloor to throw some serious shapes. There is always just something so beautiful about seeing the brides mother shouting Shot! Shot! Shot! along with Lil Jon.
So, because we want everyone to have the chance to dance… both we (and the lovely couple) are sharing the wealth and letting you download their mix.
So put those hands in the air and get ready to shuffle...
coz. its. about. to. go. down!

The Kiss
Now, it's not often that when we are working on a wedding shoot, people think you have set up an art installation. But that was exactly what happened when we decided to shoot Danny and Miriam's trailer in Grand Central Station. Passers by were asking if they were actors or even wax models and telling us how amazing it was. It was incredibly flattering, especially for what we thought was a pretty normal idea!
I just casually suggested that I would like to do some time-lapse work with the bride and groom, if they were up for it. Their wedding was actually in Long Island, but as they met right in the heart of New York City, I felt it was important to document that true love can be found in the hustle and bustle of a cosmopolitan city. So, I came up with "The Kiss".
After 30 minutes, we had gathered such a crowd of people, security had to move people on, as it was getting difficult for people to pass! I guess a bride and groom stood in the middle of one of the busiest places in the world, un-moving with eyes closed and lips locked for an hour, was a pretty strange sight. I had never really thought of it that way... I love the idea of getting lost in a kiss, where else nothing around you matters. A moment that is probably quite rare, but you never forget it when it happens!
So, enjoy the short trailer for Danny and Miriam (who may I say are absolute champions for kissing for so long!!)
Enjoy x
And here is a gorgeous still Maria shot of the two of them also...
